Short profile:The PYW (Palestinian Centre for Youth Work) is a Palestinian Non-Governmental, Non-Profit Youth Organization that was founded in 1992 under the name (Youth Work Committees). Committees were founded by a group of young men and women from the local communities who were active in the Voluntary Work Committees during the Occupation in the late Seventies up until the first Intifada. The establishments of the Committees were a response to the urgent need of Palestinian Youth to concentrate their potentials and efforts in the reconstruction process after the signing of the Peace Agreement.\r\nIn 2006, (YWC) in Gaza decided to work mainly in the Strip due to difficulties in the communication with their office West Bank (WB). It was renamed to become Palestinian Center for Youth work PYW and is now managed by new board members. The centre was registered at the Ministry of Interior under the number 7562 and authorized by ministry of youth & sport under the number 2006-83.\r\nThe ultimate goal of the PYW is to support the development of informal community based educational, cultural, recreational, sport and environmental activities and programs in order to provide Palestinian children with better chances to develop their personalities, skills and capacities. Ultimately, youth will actively participate in the building of a civil and democratic society.\r\n
