Short profile:The Piispala Youth Centre was started in 1982. The centre is supported by the Ministry of Education. The centre’s history is connected to the Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe, which was held in 1975. At the conference it was decided to create a network of youth centres to promote youth activities and Piispala is now one of these ten youth centres. \r\nPiispala is a corporation owned by Kannonkoski County. The corporation’s business objective is to promote local, national and international youth activities and operate as a diverse centre of leisure activities and education. The environment school of Piispala was opened in the fall of 2005. \r\nThe purpose of Piispala is to help local, national and international youth work and serve as a multi-sided centre of leisure and activities and education. The long-term goal of Piispala Youth Centre set for 2010 is to be a place to grow: an international centre of learning in children, youth and family work. \r\n
