Short profile:The Cultural Club 'Africa' is an association of volunteers which organizes initiatives to promote a general awakening and the analysis in depth of themes such as the North-South world relationship, immigration and intercultural themes, fair trade, international co-operation etc. Promoting peace, human rights and co-operation among people along with all the fields we can raise a civil battle in against every evidence of ignorance, intolerance, racism and alienation are or could potentially be action areas of the Club. The association has been co-operating for several years with other groups of volunteers and local non-profit organizations to encourage the spreading of a real communication culture in which dialogue and relationships are the main resources for an active citizenship. The most important activities among the several we promote has been:
- the creation and opening of a research centre for the active citizenship;
- sending of two newsletters informing 15 000 people about actual politics, and european projects
- 15 volunteers hosted within a framework of an EVS;
- realisation of about 20 youth exchanges during the last few years,
- diverse collaborations with international organisations through the anna lindh foundation and euromed projects,
- diverse collaborations with universities
Furthermore we are in the process of creating an internet radio wich later on will connect to an european network with our partners.
The Cultural Club 'Africa' is also an ethnic restaurant which has become a point of reference for immigrants, but it's frequented by lots of Italians as well.
