Short profile:The Education Secretariat within the Malta Labour Party thrives to promote political education through seminars, workshops, training and other informal training tools to the public in general including youth, both on a local and national level
The Organization holds a social-democrat ideology. It was established in 1951. Any person between the age of 14 and 30 can become a member, irrespective of sex, race, ethnic, religious, or cultural origin, as long as they accept and uphold the political principles and statutes of the organization.
Largely, our activities relate to the politics of Malta both at home and abroad. Our political intervention expands into issues of internal governing, in an effort to influence the outcomes of policies. In this respect, we try to look at policies from a critical perspective, but at the same time be positive by expressing our own position on a given matter. Furthermore, we organize:
Activities in order to bring to the surface, the problems of the youth, and work towards their solution.
Seminars and training
discussions
Cultural and sports activities
Summer camps
Take part in fund raising activities for various social purposes
