Short profile:Civic Association Seven Rays has got several projects and we integrate volunteers into most of them. „Manager of My Future“ is the greatest project. There are three-month courses for longtime unemployed people who are endangered by social exclusion. The focus group consists of people who didn´t work because of therapy of addictions or life-crises and people handicapped both physically and mentally. Another project is „Integration for Foreigners“. We provide foreigners who legally live in CR less than 5 years courses of Czech language, social and culture orientation, PC training, legal and psychological consulting.
Another project called „Healthy Ageing Process“ is care of seniors, whom we offer a wide educational, cultural and sport programme. The aim of this programme is to prevent seniors from loneliness and depressions, to enable them to acquire new friendships, new hobbies and as volunteers to take part in our projects.
Project „Compatriotic Dialog“ is aimed to help our compatriots living abroad to preserve knowledge of Czech language, folk-culture and folk-memories. Our chorus spends 2-3 weeks every summer with compatriotic choruses and we teach our friends Czech folk songs, dances and so on. Project „International Compatriotic Festival“ is a big action, which we organize in Septembers. There we present craftsmanship of our compatriots from all over the world. Usually there are 250-300 interprets. The action is a very important cultural event.
Our Association has got a branch office called Nisanka in Jizera Mountains where we cooperate with youth from the local school, with seniors and with healthy handicapped people; we organize cultural, sport and public actions – wide community takes part in it. People from this mountain area are very tenacious and all groups (school, kindergarten, municipal, local clubs, fire-brigade and so on) take part in all our actions. We endeavour to make children and youth love their dwelling place in order they do not leave their homes for cities like bygone generations did.
