| Short profile: | The Citizen of the World" organization was born as initiative group of young people from the region of Transnistria, mainly the city of Tiraspol, Moldova in 2007. This informal association in its trendings and endevours operates for solving the problem of informational, cultural, linguistic, political and social isolation of young people in the Transnistrian region that is connected with the lasting Transnistrian conflict. With the lapse of time the "The Citizen of the World" organization was joined and by young people from the right bank of the river Dniestr, from the rest part of Moldova. "The Citizen of the World" has got its official registration in 2008 at the Ministry of Justice of Moldova (registration number 4154) under the name in state language "Cetatean al Planetei". The Goal of the Association according its statute is to encourage active participation of young people in social activity at local, state and international levels by supporting and organizing the cultural exchange programs, informational, volunteer, educational and charitable projects; within the framework of the promotion and protection of the universal, democratic values, the fundamental human rights and freedoms to facilitate youth's awareness as the citizens of the world. In order to accomplish the statutory goals the Association conducts the following actions:contributes to increase the mobility of young people in developing and implementing democratic values and their protection; Promotion of citizenship, civic awareness and social activism of young people; promotion of the World Citizenship idea - a simultaneous human awareness as the citizen of the certain state and the citizen of Earth that leads to the human feeling of connection with what is going on in different countries and also responsibility for the activity to future generations; propagation of principles and methods of non-formal/informal learning and "people-to-people" civic diplomacy; development of intercultural, international, interracial and inter-confessional tolerance, mutual respect and dialogue; support of civic initiatives, including initiatives in the field of culture, communication and international languages study; organization and conduct of trainings for youth on educational, cultural, social and civic areas; elevation of legal competence and the information awareness of youth about international justice in human rights, enhance knowledge of treaties, international documents, conventions, protocols in the field of human rights and youth policy; continuously informing about the functions and operations of international organizations, consulting on the internal legislation of the states for young people. At present time "The Citizen of the World" has its representatives in Poland, Russia, Italy, Ukraine and the network continues its development."The Citizen of the World" is the member of International network "Young Europe", the member of International Youth Human Rights Movement and the National Youth Council of Moldova. Current priorities of "the Citizen of the World" activities are youth mobility, migration, fostering the development of democratic open society, protection of youth rights, intercultural learning, European integration.
