Short profile:Ujamaa per la pace Onlus is a no-profi association, born in 1993 with the main aim of seek and promote, through different activities and projects, alternative models and practices of sustainable development based on the culture of peace and solidarity among peoples.
In our present and future activities we would like to implement the following goals:
* To disseminate forms of active citizenship and volunteering, also as a model of civil commitment, based on a participatory, solidarity, non-utilitarian and democratic vision of life, both at local and global level;
*To spread the awareness of global interdependence, the knowledge and the respect of cultural diversity and human rights, to develop a new forma mentis and intercultural practices, through international cooperation, mutual understanding between different peoples and cultures, formal and non-formal education and the use of non-violent methods.
*To promote a culture of peace, meant not only as the absence of military conflict, but as the active engagement of citizens to create a fairer and more inclusive society, encouraging the usage of resources not to military purpose or to the oppression of minorities;
*To promote the development of a more sober society, committed to a responsible consumption of resources of the Earth, attentive to the rights and needs of future generations and the preservation of ecosystems, ensuring the dissemination of an ecological culture not limited to the protection of specific areas, but able to recover that relationship between man and nature that modern society does not take into consideration properly;
