Some of the students live in the youth village, which is their home during the period of their high-school studies. The village is lodged in a series of small houses surrounded by gardens which are cultivated by the students, and afford a high standard of accommodation. Life in the youth village offers the students a living experience which is culturally rich and shapes their social maturity and expectations for the future. The students live in a co-operative society in which they play an active part; this teaches them social skills and raises their self-esteem
