Short profile:“Young mountaineers” is an organization of enthusiastic group of young people, with the vision to introduce youth new way of living and contributing to the wellbeing of the community. It offers youth to qualitatively use their free time and feel useful by being involved into non-formal education, community volunteering and intercultural learning. We are leaded by the aim of developing sense of clean environment, introducing healthy life and love for the nature, having a tool to better access the needs of young people and increasing their level of knowledge on different issues such as: social inclusion, racism, communication skills, conflict resolution etc.
The slogan of the organization is “To reach the peaks on our mountains and in our life”.
“Young mountaineers” organizes different local activities. On a regular base (usualy twice a month), we do short walk in nature and picnics. For the day of Earth and other significant holidays we organize ecological actions, workshops and discussions on topics that concern the youth from our community. In addition, our organization is host as well partner organization of international projects Action 1 and 3 from the Youth in Action programme of the European Commission with the intention of promoting cultural links among young people from different countries, international cooperation on matters regarding young people and more specifically getting them closer to the feeling of being European and sharing values with the other cultures.
