Short profile:The STAJ Touraine, Association of Youth and Non-Formal Education, is located in Tours since 1990 and develops actions whose objectives are to support initiatives and projects of young people and to bring out innovative projects. STAJ Touraine is a major life-long learning actor. In this perspective the STAJ Touraine attaches particular importance to any project done by or for young people:
- Organizing training- BAFA-BAFD (Certificate for volunteer youth leaders and youth directors).
- Organizing training modules towards the Volunteers as well as any actor involved in community life and social and cultural work.
- Managing a youth club in the district of Loir et Cher.
- The support and coaching of youth initiatives and youth projects.
- The establishment of European projects, sending young volunteers under the European Voluntary Service, support structures and communities for the development of European youth exchanges, contact making seminars (Signall platform), project of international solidarity.
- The creation of civic activities in the public space.
- The organization of environmental youth camps for children and young people.
- Participation in the platform « la Fabrique ».
The association has 6 permanent employees over two sites (Tours and Theillay) and recruits many contractors throughout the year. It has about twenty active volunteer members.
The association belongs to the national network STAJ, in this context larger scale projects can be organised.
The target group of the organization is large: young people in general, young leaders and trainees (BAFA or BAFD), young European volunteers, children and young people in the youth club, young adults from the region as from the district North of Tours.
