Short profile:Ogre Youth Club “Project Workshop” was established in 2004 by four young people who had gained experience in various youth NGO’s and wanted to share it with youngsters in their own local community, providing them with opportunities to be active both on Our town Ogre is situated 35 km away from the capital of Latvia, Riga, therefore there is very little going on in Ogre as everyone should be able to go to Riga. Most of the people choose to stay passive instead.
We have been working hard to provide opportunities for youth to take an active part in various projects on local, national and international levels and to gain the experience of participation from them. Thus we promote initiative, ideas for what can and should be changed in the lives of individuals themselves and the community in general. We share knowledge and skills among each other, we raise awareness on various issues about all what matters to us and we choose to think globally to find ways to act locally.
