Short profile:We are a youth initiative called 'europa in chemnitz ' (Europe in Chemnitz) and are located in Chemnitz, Germany. We started up out work in May 2009 and are currently funded by the 'Youth in Action' Program. In our 'Youth-Europe-Office' we offer personal councelling in possibilities ti go abroad for young people between 13 and 30. Here we also try to inform about funded possibilities of a stay-abroad, like the european volunteer service.
another important part of our work are workshops about europe and european politics, which we offer to schools and youthgroups. with those workshops we want to rise awareness about europe and its influence on our daily life.
The team of the initiative consists of students from the Chemnitz University of Technology, from different field of studies such as political science, european studies, media communication, education and sociology. Our interest in Europe and our different experiences of living in another country is what unites us and gives us our motivation. All work in the initiative is based on voluntary work and self organisation.
