Short profile:Gordion is a youth group which was built under the wings of Umitkoy Anatolian High School, Ankara, Turkey. It has had a lot of partnerships both in Europe and outside Europe so far. It has had several youth in action projects. In each project, we aim to integrate young people from disadvanged areas with the non-formal education in the European level. Our other target is to involve disabled young people with other young people in the youth in action programs, have them gain competences and intercultural learning through exchanges.
Gordion has had intercontinental contacts who have ties on several basis. We have had formal and non-formal education exchanges. Gordion youth group has built a student chapter under the PTPI (People to People International) Kansas, USA. We also have partners from New Zealand, USA, Kenya, Australia, Peru, etc.
Our other mission is to commit community service which we involve young people to work as a volunteer. We aim to improve animal shelters. Young people organize charity in the school fair to raise money to help the animals. We also provide aids for the schools that are in need of stationery, toys and cloths in Africa each year.
