Short profile: | Kulturgut was founded in 1987 in Hattingen and is active since then in the spectrum of artistic creation, intercultural education and sustainable lifelong learning, on local level in the Ruhr area, regional in North Rhein-Westphalia and national and international.
Kulturgut is a licensed, independent and charitable supporter of the "Academy of Cultures of North Rhine-Westphalia", of the interdisciplinary youth-/art school for kids “School of Art for Kids ” and of several art and media projects as well as of youth and adult education.
Our activities are based on the development of consciousness of the interconnections between all appearances of individual experience, society, nature and environment.
We see creativity, soft and smart power, mindfulness and empathy as key elements to find sustainable answers to the complexity of the world and the challenge to provide a good life for present and future generations in all countries, independent of creed, gender, heritage, culture, social status, age or any other discriminations.
We work independent of political, religious or other national world-views.
Among others we are Members of the DPWV (Association of Equal Charity) and of several compartments of the LKD (art schools in the national school and cultural and pedagogic services of the North Rhine-Westphalian region), of the German Children's Fund, the Equal Youth Organisation and the network Prokulturgut.net.
In addition, we cooperate with different institutions in Germany and abroad: artistic and cultural organizations and pacifistic intercultural institutions, business schools, schools or organizations for youth, the region North Rhine-Westphalia, the BMBF (German education Ministry), the European Commission, the Youth for Europe, German-Polish organization for youth, the Goethe Institute and the Foreign Cultural Representatives, different European communities, art, theatre, media, festival networks and with the hosts.
