| Short profile: | As an English high school teacher I teach all levels students, preparing them for the Cambridge ESOL examinations as well as for national examinations and competitions. I undertake national and international training courses. I am the president of the Project Commission in school and thus, I design and involve both teachers and students actively in national and international projects and partnership such as the "Teen fest -The high school of the year" competition. At the moment, I coordinate the implementation of an extra-curricular ten months partnership with foreign volunteer students from Germany, Iceland and Latvia who perform a large spectrum of activities with our school staff, students, pupils from the Youth Club and the orphanages from town.
Vocational School Sântana is situated in Sântana, a town with approximately 13000 inhabitants,in Arad county at the crossroads of a multicultural and multi ethnical area.Our students belong to five ethnic groups: Romanian, Moldavian, German, Hungarian, Romani and they are always willing to undertake intercultural dialogue with other people belonging to other countries and cultures.
Our school was founded in 1961 and it is an educational and service resource center for the local community promoting a permanent interaction with the social,cultural and economical environment supporting students' social inclusion and inclusion on the market place through the quality of the educational process. It consists of 3 building corps, including a boarding school.There are 2 ICT labs,5labs:Chemistry, Physics, Math,Biology,Modern Languages in our school,one psycho-pedagogical lab for counselling, 5 practical labs for the vocational forms, a sports hall, an open air playground, a teachers' hall.The school curriculum includes both theoretical and vocational subjects and three foreign languages-English,French and German as well as old Latin.There are 600 students in our school and 47 teachers.The 22 forms include:the technical profiles-acountacy and IT operator specialization-,the humanistic theoretical profile-social sciences studies,the Arts and Crafts School and evening classes.Our school has established effective partnerships with the other educational institutions in town such as the Youth Club and the orphanages,with the neighboring universities and with other organizations such as "The Pro-Friendship"hosting foreign volunteer students and performing school activities with them,Junior Achievemnet Romania, SNAC-Communitary National Action Strategy-.Our teachers and students organize extracurricular activities like school festivals and proms, wokshops, debates, theatre performances,celebrating the religious and cultural festivities and the national personalities,particiapte in national school competitions with notable results like"Teenfest" and school olympiads.
