| Short profile: | Kulturne centrum AKTIVITY, oz, is a non-profit, non-government
organisation founded in 2004 with the aim to provide a wide range of
activities in the fields of art, sport and free-time activities.
The full-time team consists of 3 people. Considerable number of tasks
is carried out with the help of part-time employees and, of course,
volunteers.
Our main activities include:
" Support to amateur art bodies and activities on a local level -
traditional dance groups, hip-hop and break-dance crews, modern
dancing, belly-dance groups, amateur music bands, theatrical
companies.
" Presentation of music concerts, dance and theatrical performances,
art exhibitions.
" Organisation of lectures for the benefit of the community - legal
advice lectures. lectures on health and life style, interactive
environmental exhibitions with topics such as: Herbs and Their Use in
Natural Medicine, Climate Changes, Endangered Species.
" We help the people with fewer opportunities, both physically and
mentally disabled to integrate and reintegrate into community and
social life (with specially designed pottery classes, focused on motor
abilities and coordination, integration in music and dancing lecture
groups helping to deal with concentration problems).
" Cooperation with schools in organising and providing additional
educational programmes - drug prevention discussions, crime awareness
among young people, lectures on fair-trade etc.
" Sport and art courses for children, youth and adults e.g. yoga,
pilates, aerobics, belly-dancing, music courses (guitar, piano, vocal,
flute), pottery classes, short and long term language courses. |
