Short profile:The “Kelebek Etkisi Gençlik Dernegi” (Butterfly Effect Youth Association) is a newly created association. Some of my friends and I took part in the EVS program - a part of the EU youth programs - , wich was a really enriching experience. As a matter of fact, we decided to encourage underpriviledged young people from our city to join this program too. (Youth in Action programs)

By doing this, we want to promote youth action in the social field and to encourage a mutual and cultural enrichment. In the medium-term, we also plan to act in the education of pree-teenagers, in the cultural and social fields and to promote personal development.

Sanliurfa is a very important city in Turkey, on both historical and cultural sides. This city is actually considered as a holy place for the three religions of the Book.

From a social point of view, Sanliurfa is one the less priviledged city in Turkey. The city and the region cannot therefore offer a wide range of activities and projects to the youth. Yet, we believe that young people can play an important role for change and that's why we decided to focus on them.

Believing that brainstorming is the best way to promote the emergence of ideas and projects, we want to encourage collaboration.

Our main aim as an association is to work with organisaitons which would have positive outcomes in possible projects in order for us to gain experience on intercultural dialogue via international projects and to reflect those experiences to youth. Therefore we think that we would have various point of views towards various cultures and that those international activities would have positive outcomes for us.

For all those reasons, we would be very pleased to co-operate in some projects with other organizations.
