Short profile:Imagine that teenagers learn about success in schools. Imagine pupils that take responsibility for their life, liberated from fears and stereotypes, reaching for a dream come true and simply enjoying life they create. What if this was as usual as reading and writing? We are working to make this vision reality and You can too! NGO Kitas variantas – is an independent volunteer-based organization that is helping Lithuanian teenagers to set clear, long-term goals, develop personal skills and utilize their potential. Since we started work in May 2008, we gathered a team of 370 volunteers. In Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda 455 pupils are attending trainings. Our goal: A pupil who is able to plan his/her time; A pupil who knows what he/she wants to do in the future; A pupil who sets long-term goals and purposefully works in achieving them; A pupil who is courageous and self-confident; A pupil who approaches his/her actions in a responsible and honest manner.Lets WORK TOGETHER to achieve these goals! How we do things: Psychology, education and training experts involved in organization are creating training programs that help 14-19 year old pupils to reveal their potential and develop personal skills. Programs include such themes as factors of success and failure, principles of setting and achieving goals, effective time planning, team-work, entrepreneurship, creativity, honesty, responsibility and courage;We implement these programs in schools as an extra curricular activity, in youth day centers, foster homes, youth imprisonment facilities etc.; We strive to give the motivation youth needs to achieve tangible results; Our work is based on continuous learning system that consists of humanistic education and practical psychology theories complemented with personal trainers and pupils experience; We aim to create an environment where people with positive attitude and a will to grow would meet and help each other.
