Short profile:The Greek Bank of Memory is a non profit association working for the collection, preservation and valorisation of the memories of people.
Purposes of are non profit, have public benefit, and have an educational, cultural and humanitarian goals.
More specifically:
1.The conservation and promotion of history, cultural heritage and culture as sum of the experiences, knowledge and traditions of each single person, mainly through strengthening of personal and collective memory.
2.The conservation of personal and collective identity of fundament for the construction of a worldwide society based on multiculture, intergenerational respect and peace.
3.The valorization o the individual memory as tool for combating social exclusion and racism
4.The raise of awarness and education of new generation for the importance of memory collection and preservation
5.The recognition of the role of elderly as an added value in each civil, developed society and bridge among different generations.
6.Recognition of the multidisciplinarity of History in Education
We implement a wide range of actions in the cultural, educational, social and research field.
The Greek Bank of memory is the exclusive partner of the International project www.memoro.org in Greece.
