Short profile:GESOGED is a non-profit oriented NGO established by and for young people. Its main target group is the youngsters aged between 15 and 30. GESOGED aims at taking a pioneering role in organizing every possible action towards social and personal development of its target group. It believes in the power of youth in creating a better world to live in. It has 25 active members at the moment but it has strong contacts with many youth groups in Balikesir. GESOGED is open to all kinds of project ideas suggested by youth around us, especially within the framework of the youth program. Some thematic focuses of GESOGED are, but not limited to, social exclusion, equal opportunities, democracy and human rights, arts and culture, and youth leisure. So for GESOGED has realized three EVS projects as hosting organization in addition to nine others as the sending organization and also as a coordinating organization. GESOGED puts great emphasis on developing the cooperation of all state and civil institutions for the benefit of youth. Thus, it has close connections especially with the directory of National Education, Social Services, the Police Department and Balıkesir University.
