| Short profile: | The kobiety.lodz.pl is a non-profit, apolitical, non-governmental consulting-educational organisation. Its activities focus on\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nsupporting educational initiatives and programs in the areas of women activity, human rights, media, social and legal reforms.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nThe word “kobiety” means “women” in Polish.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nBeing established in 2000 (as Niezalezna Inicjatywa Kobiet NIKe – the Independent Initiative of Women - NIKe) and located in\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nŁódz (Poland), the organisation deals with the promotion and development of women’s activities.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nAmong members of kobiety.lodz.pl there are experienced trainers, lawyers, sociologists, teachers, and culture animators. Our\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nvolunteers are students of the humanities: sociology, pedagogy, journalism as well as ladies after 50 years old.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nThe main focus is given to the portal which has the same name as the association: “kobiety.lodz.pl” and aims at:\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- informing women about important and interesting cultural and social events,\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- promoting active women in Łód´z and the Privince of Łód´z\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- informing women about possibilities to find employment\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- providing information for women on workshops, trainings and conferences developed in the region\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- making sociological research on important questions as for example: is it necessary to include parytet when electingmembers\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nof the Parliament?, or: why are there so few women holding management positions?, etc.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- being present in conferences, seminars, congresses and events in the region – first in order to collect information and next on\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\npublish it on the portal\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- creating photo documentation of events or important issues and share it among interested women\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- preparing rapports and articles about women, media coverage etc.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nKobiety.lodz.pl as an association is interested in:\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- inspiring women to developing themselves and supporting their independent thinking\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- promoting gender equality\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- conducting researchn on conditions and stereotypes which influence the role of women and men\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- creating better condition for women’s professional development and wider participation in the public sphere\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- helping women adjust to the new democratic developments and market economy dynamics\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- promoting and support of women’s entrepreneurship\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- promoting activities to grow stronger and confirm themselves among women and girls\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- informing women and raising their awareness of social processes and other important for women development issues\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nMAIN ACTIVITIES in relation to the aims of the organisation.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nKobiety.lodz.pl realizes their ideas and aims in following ways:\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- by providing social media campaigns addressed to women (in 2010: we realised “Stop violence against women” and “Non\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nviolent communications” campaigns; in March 2010 we started a campaign called: “Woman and finances” which is a step\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nforward the economical independence of women; within this campaign we have realised 3 conferences, many seminars and\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nworkshops)\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- educating men and women from the region on the issues of our interest\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- making questionnaires and conducting surveys\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- writing articles and publishing them online\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- searching for information in the Internet, selecting it and publishing it at kobiety.lodz.pl portal\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- making presentations about women issues in different institutions\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- leading discussions\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- preparing photo exhibitions\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- making films\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- implementing innovative workshops\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- conferences\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- publishing books\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n- and other activities related to women and femininity.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nFor three years we have implemented a project called “Flaying grandmas” which collected a considerable number of women\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nGrundtvig Strona 8 z 30 Senior Volunteering Projects\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nGRU/2011/SVP/W/0022\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nafter 50 y.o. They write educational poems, stories and fairy tales for children, they also prepare shows/theatre plays for children\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nwith grandmothers being actors. The team of 15 women has performed around 40 shows so far and edited 3 books.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nTHE MANAGEMENT:\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nThe organisation kobiety.lodz.pl has three main organizational units:\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n1st Department of the website management and journalism\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n2nd Department of youth programs\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n3rd Department of senior projects.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nThe main room of the office of the organisation is 20 square meters and it is equipped with a computer with printers and Internet\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nconnection. There is also a meeting room (30square meters) with chairs and a small kitchen place.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nTARGET GROUPS:\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n1/ women - we gather young and senior women in different projects.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nYoung women participate mostly in educational projects we provide (workshops, courses, conferences), whereas senior ladies\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nparticipate in a project of journalism and in a project “Flying Grandmas” composing of writing stories for children and making\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\ntheatre plays for them. They will be also the group which this Project will address.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n2/ readers (the website’s audience) – a large group of people reading articles on the website kobiety.lodz.pl, looking for\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\ninformation and interested in topics related to women. They will be also a group which senior volunteers will address their\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nwork to – f. ex. when explaining ideas related to women and femininity which are important in Italy and in Europe. |
