Short profile: | Hello!
My name is Anna, I am 24 years old and I am Ukrainian.
With this letter I would like to apply for an opportunity to participate in your European Volunteer Service in the your project.
I would be very honored to become a member of your volunteer team at EVS. I have been looking for a program like yours for a long time , and when I found EVS I immediately understood that it was exactly what I was looking for.
To have an opportunity to become a volunteer and use your energy, time and knowledge to help others, maybe, even, to make this world a little bit better makes a huge impact in a personal ideology of each and everyone who is ready to accept a challenge of a life time and participate in your EVS program.
I understand and feel that there is something with in myself that I want to share during my volunteer experience but I also know that this project will only benefit those participants who will be sincerely and unselfishly working with a common aim.
I feel a deep desire to grow and improve myself. I believe that EVS would be one of the greatest experiences of my life where I can learn from the wonderful people who do what I want to do and have the same life values. I believe EVS project will help to enhance my interpersonal skills and enrich my culture and improve my language skills or moreover give me an opportunity to learn a new language which is one of my loves..
Currently I am working as a Customer Service Representative in the Hospitality Industry, and my position requires a lot of patience, discipline, strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. As a part of one big company I have learned how to work on my own, and be enthusiastic and take an initiative when it is required, and work within a team, and as a team player help and assist my colleagues. I can say that dealing with people in the fast-changing environment of the hospitality industry you must learn how to stay calm, be positive and learn the lessons from the everyday experiences .
During the winter of 2010 and 2011 I participated in a wonderful arrangement of charity evenings for orphans. The events were arranged by a group of friends who are not part of any official organization, and who are ordinary people of goodwill, and our actions were based on the sincere desire to help others, especially children who are deprived of parental love. The events took place in an orphanage boarding school on Saint Nicholas Day. Our aim was to make a celebration of the holiday for the children , to make them feel smiling and happy! We took up a collection of money and children's clothing among of our family members and friends, and with the funds that were collected we bought gifts, and some more clothing, and toys and stuff animals, and hygiene items .
The programs for the evening consisted of games, dancing, singing and hand-craft activities, and one of my favorite activities photo-shooting in different costumes , and then we had the most wonderful holiday dinner. The evenings were a great success! it was an amazing experience of interacting with the children , each of them was different from another and we all tried to find ways of communicating with each child to let them know that someone really cared about them. We all were really excited to see the smiling and happy faces of our little friends, and it was the most enjoyable part of our projects.
I am particularly interested in the project because I am planning to continue my professional career in the customer service field and dealing with people and I see it as an opportunity to hone my skills and develop them for future applications. If given this opportunity I know that I can learn a lot from the project and I hope to contribute with my own skills and I am also looking for an experience that can prepare me for a better and a brighter future.
To change from a professional work environment into a volunteer surroundings will be a great advantage and a very useful experience. I believe the participation in Volunteer project such as this one will benefit me with new knowledge, multicultural experiences, and will help me to gain new skills which are highly valued by prospective employers.
I hope to apply all my experiences in a positive manner, which will undoubtedly prove my competence and enhance my abilities and EVS offers me an opportunity for advancing my career, with great room for upward trajectory. I believe I would be able to use all that knowledge, skills and abilities that I will learn in the future in my professional career, and in my personal life or in the next volunteer project and hope it will give great impact to those who are my colleagues and those who I hope to serve.
Thank you so much for taking the time and reading my letter and hope for your positive response.
Should you need any further information or have any questions, please feel free to contact me via my email or mobile number.
Yours sincerely,
Anna Romanova
