Short profile:MUNBW is a project of the association Deutsche Model United Nations e.V. (DMUN). DMUN encourages political education with regard to the United Nations since 2003.

“Model United Nations Baden-Württemberg” (MUNBW) is a political experimental game. About 500 pupils and students from Germany and all over Europe come together in Stuttgart for this mock UN conference every spring. They simulate different bodies of the United Nation and thereby become familiar with the setup, functioning and system of international politics. As delegates, NGO-activists or journalists they playfully get in touch with the problems we are facing today.
Our program is based on three steps. We, the organizers, want to inform the participants, fill them with enthusiasm and then activate them so that they get involved in shaping tomorrow’s world.

As one of the leading organizations in non-formal UN education we are accredited both to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the United Nations Department for Public Information (UNDPI) and participate in official UN discussions. DMUN is registered as a non-profit association at the district court.
Members of DMUN are motivated students who work on voluntary base only.
DMUN promotes political youth education, democratic participation, civic engagement and youth empowerment at the national and international level. DMUN is the largest organizer of MUN conferences in Germany with more than 1000 participants every year and advocates youth voices at international conferences.
We want to convey young people the enthusiasm, inspiration and skills they need to shape the future in a reflected, open-minded and humanly way. By doing so, political education becomes political action.
