Short profile:The EUROPEAN CENTER of ROBERT SCHUMAN (CERS) in Scy-Chazelles is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the work and memory of the President Robert Schuman-Father of Europe to familiarize the general public to European construction. CERS was founded at the intitiative of the European Commission and the General Council of Moselle on 9 May 2000.
Through the educational service of the Museum of Robert Schuman, CERS hosts about 5000 young Europeans per year with the aim of to give countenance to them about awareness of challenges and difficulties of the European Union and involve them in a dynamic reflection on the future of Europe. This European education for youth takes the form of educational workshops and cultural events.
The Center organizes or co-organizes European training courses and intercultural trainings for teachers, young graduates and adults, including political science, history, geography or initiation into citizenship. CERS is also a partner in various projects related to multilingualism in Europe, the mobility of citizens and the North-South dialogue, in particular in the Mediterranean area.
