Short profile:Marimbondo is an association, founded in 2000, based in a small village in Central Portugal.
Since august 2007 we are involved in the Youth in Action Programme. We are starting with sending volunteers and working as a coordinating organisation. Later on we are also willing to host volunteers. The Youth in Action Programme is very new for the organisation itself, but we have found a coordinator with a lot of experience in the European Youth Programme. By making the combination of a very enthusiast organisation together with an experienced coordinator we are working on European projects for our region.
For a long time our organisation is working on all levels: from local to international.
The activities we are doing in the society are mainly based on theatre, cabaret, circus, music and animation. We carry out and promote these arts. We involve people during animations, theatre, etc. and let them participate in shows. We provide workshops, we organise festivals, etc. Some of our activities are to animate people; others are based on participation, others we work on educational goals like: awareness, anti discrimination, global issues, etc.
The target group involves the community. We make shows with children, we let them participate, we give workshops for teenagers, we make music with adults, etc.
