The project \"Youth, Peace and Human Rights: A Statement of Freedom\" aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of different youngsters from around Europe about human rights, the challenges of immigration and all the threats that disadvantaged communities face when looking for better paths for their lives. This youth exchange is about reflection and opportunities. We hope, on one hand, to put youngsters in contact with examples of the cruel reality, around the Globe, and on the other to give them opportunity to experience alternative learning methods which will allow them to develop certain tools of active citizenship and social participation.
The project will include workshops, outdoor activities and sports, role plays, development of small films and documentaries, small lectures with experts, work in the fields of development and cooperation, all of this contributing to a common effort to stress important values such asd of peace, tolerance, respect and human rights.
This youth exchange will gather 35 youngsters from 7 different countries (including Portugal), in Alentejo region, during 9 days and with the expectation of defining a very important frame that will allow everyone to build their individual and collective responsability, through active participation and volunteering activities, for the development of the most disadvantaged communities.
