| Summary of the project: | We are Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development Association in Aydın /TURKEY (GISK). We organize national and international projects about young people\\\'s contribution to their surroundings. Our activities are to raise awareness of local people with youth initiatives and enable young people to initiate for change, create impact, attract the attention of people to recycling, other environmental issues and usage of bicycle as a healthy transportation vehicle.
In this context, we design a project called \\\"Cycling for Recycling\\\". This is an Action 1.1 project and we need partners from EU member and programme countries. Our target NGOs are cycling NGOs, Environmentalists NGOs other youth groups and NGOs. |
| Special considerations: | Cycling for recycling is a project based on awareness raising about protecting environment and combating against climate change. During the exchange, a week with 25 young participants and their group leaders from different parts of Europe, participants will involve themselves in raising awareness activities in the city of Aydın and Nazilli such as, collecting recycling materials, visiting municipalities, campaigning in the city centers, visiting primary school and participating to a panel discussion at the university, sharing the best practices in their countries concerning environment and discuss EU policies of youth and environment, plus NGO fair, intercultural night party, sightseeing and visiting to Ephesus and Kusadasi. It is expected that this project will enable participants will also empower their ability to influence local people and create difference, increase their knowledge on environmental subjects and EU policies, learn from each other, get acquainted with Turkish- Aegean culture. The sponsors of the project are Aydın Cycling Association, Municipality, and TEMA (environmental NGO of Aydın).\\r\\nProject Details\\r\\nProject Description\\r\\nThe project’s results will be disseminating not only through participants, but also through other NGO\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s. These will be encouraged to implement new project using the elements and the ideas from the project.\\r\\nThe project simply aims to raise awareness in particularly in Aydın province and then Turkey and Europe about the importance of recycling and the usage of bicycle as a healthy and environment friendly transportation vehicle. The actions proposed in the project will enable participants to learn: To create difference and influence local people on solutions to local/international problems, directing their attention and create awareness; To get more informed on environmental issues; To get acquainted with local media and involve, deliberate speech at the press conference; To transmit and share the knowledge with other people from different countries and cultures.\\r\\nThe project will be based on non-formal education and participatory approach. Learning is based on activities that allow to implement a non-formal education strategy that includes non-formal learning objectives related to the themes. All activities are directly related to the goals, through a participatory approach, the contextualization of concepts, skills enhancement, the development of ability. In particular, during the exchange will be development activities related to group working, reflection group, presentation skills, communication with local people and local administrations, campaigning, multimedia, creativity development, hand crafting, and definitely sporting, sightseeing, partying :) |
