Summary of the project:The children home is situated in city of Liepaja. Liepaja is located in the southwest of the Republic of Latvia in the central part of the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea. The total area of the city is 6037 ha, of which 35 % is green and nature areas, including parks and water basins, 17% - industrial area, 14% - residential area.
The volunteers will organize leisure time for children together with the pedagogues. They will play different games, go for walks together and work in the interest clubs after school. Together they will perform art and cultural projects. The volunteers are given opportunity to bring their own ideas to the project. They will try to help children with the home tasks for school. The volunteers will be asked to practice children skills in English or other language in non-formal way.
The project should develop intercultural bridges for the children and support their ability of the communication and positive thinking. It is a great chance for them to learn more about other countries and different cultures and traditions. During the project children will have a possibility to open and express themselves and develop their skills and talents.
