Summary of the project:The children day care centre is attached to a primary school of the protestant church in the village of Rauen; the centre is situated in the school building. The pupils are visiting the children day care centre before and after school; the centre is closely cooperating with the primary school. Both institutions were opened in August 2007 and are still in the process of buildup: every year there will be added one more form until the full size of 6 forms with 25 children each.

The primary school and the children day care centre are following the same aims: educating children on the background of the Christian belief, conveying a sense of community and cooperativeness to the children, and to take care individually of every child. The target group are children in the age of 6 - 7 years (in future up to 12 years). In the day care centre there are working two professional governesses.The general tasks of the volunteers are:

- playing together with the children indoor and outdoor;
- handicrafts and creative activities;
- organising and facilitating own projects (e.g. musical or sports activities);
- preparing festivities and holidays of the ecclesiastiacl year;
- common meals;
- exploring the nature;
- supporting children in doing their homework;
- preparing and accompanying excursions;
- presenting their home countries, languages and cultures;
- introduction in the pedagogical work with the children's parents.
