Summary of the project:Liepaja Children and Youth centre (Pioneer house)was founded in 1945. In 1990 it became Children`s Intrests house.\\r\\nIn 1997 it changed to Liepaja Children and Youth centre, which provides free time activities, also skills and knowledge, provides activities in several workshops and clubs.\\r\\nNovadays Liepaja Children and Youth centre involves 947 children until 20 years old. There are 31 pedagogues in the staff.\\r\\nFrom August 2008 it is located in Liepaja Olympic centre. \\r\\nLiepaja Children and Youth centre offers activities for children and Youth free time: folk dance groups, drama groups, popgroups, drawing, knitting, choirs, etc. The centre organizes children’s art exhibitions, takes part in international contests and organizes Latvian Song and Dance festivals, concerts, summer camps. The centre is a member of the international organization “Platformnet”. The centre cooperates with local schools, class teachers in order to involve more people in youth work and different activities, in order to develop youngster`s cooperation and communication skills.\\r\\n
