Summary of the project:A Rocha in Portugal is an environmental NGO with a Christian ethos and worldview and works mostly to preserve a wetland in the Southwest Algarve, which is a Natura 2000 area, but under severe pressure for tourism urbanization. It fulfils this through scientific research, environmental education, political lobbying. It has several scientific projects going on, on birds, plants and insects. It carries out Environmental education with about 1.000 students from nearby schools and about 1.500 day visitors of people interested in nature.
