Date and main milestones:
- Advanced planning visit, February 10 to 12, 2012
- Local research about the way the local parliaments and city councils work
- Local visits to national parliaments and city councils of each country to share and experience with local experts and youth politicians
- Youth seminar, end of September 2012
- Final meeting in Brussels and visit to the European Parliament with all participants and a youth commissary
Partners:
At least 8 organizations based in Programme countries (27 EU countries, Croatia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey), 2 organizations per country. Partners from Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Norway and the UK are particularly welcome.
Teams:
2 to 4 participants (aged 18-30) per partner. Decision-makers / experts can also participate (no age limit).
Financial conditions:
- Board, lodging and activities during project days (as well as visa costs, if applicable and requested by the partner) are fully covered by Raise It Now – Associação.
- 70% of total travel costs for the youth seminar and final meeting will be reimbursed (up to available budget) after the end of the activity, via bank transfer and only when all airline / travel agency invoices, e-tickets, boarding passes and other tickets are delivered to Raise It Now – Associação.
- Air travels for advanced planning visit will be arranged and fully covered by Raise It Now – Associação. The partner commits to deliver all boarding passes and local transportation tickets to Raise It Now – Associação.
- There will be a participation fee of 25€ per participant (to be deducted from the reimbursement) in the youth seminar and final meeting.
Summary:
These are the objectives of the project:
- To explore the added value of youth democracy projects for the local community;
- To acquire project management and communication competences;
- To develop understanding about the principles of youth participation;
- To learn about the Youth in Action programme and especially about the quality criteria of action 1.3 - youth democracy projects;
- To share and transfer experiences of activities undertaken in the local community;
- To develop an action plan to implement a youth democracy project.

- A brief description of your organization and how you can contribute to this project (activities, ideas, similar past experiences, etc.);
- Name of project coordinator / contact person, direct email address and phone number;
- If you will include people with fewer opportunities in your team, how many and what are their backgrounds;
- Extra costs that might be associated with participants with fewer opportunities (e. g. support persons);
- What is your nearest airport and the cost (per person) to reach it from where you live (round trip);
- Cost estimation for a round trip ticket between your nearest airport and Lisbon airport (IATA code: LIS);
- Cost estimation for a round trip ticket between your nearest airport and Brussels airport (IATA code: BRU);
- Cost of a visa to come to Portugal (if applicable);
- Associated costs to get the visa (e. g. travel costs to embassy) (if applicable);
- A scan of your fully filled part 3 (you can find the template enclosed, DO NOT USE OUTDATED FORMS) (alternatively, part 3 can also be sent by fax to +351 214 757 661, please mention that in your reply). To be sure your part 3 is correctly filled, please check the attached document.
Then, AFTER BEING SURE YOUR DIGITAL PART 3 IS CORRECT (CHECK THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT) AND HAVING SENT ALL THE INFORMATION REQUESTED ABOVE, send 2 ORIGINAL COPIES by post to:
