Partners:
6 organizations based in programme countries (27 EU countries, Croatia, Turkey, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland).
Partners must be interested in the theme and able to guarantee the production of a radio program / podcast. Partner organizations should also be able to establish partnerships with at least one radio station from their own country.
Teams:
4 participants (15 to 30 years old) per organization.
If there are underaged (15 to 17 years old) participants, a coach must be appointed. There are no age limits for the coach.
Summary:
Nowadays there's a general feeling that most of young people don't feel motivated or just don't care about actively participating in society. Nevertheless, they are extremely enthusiastic about new media / social media (blogs, podcasts, social networks, etc.) and they show an overwhelming aptitude for these new means of communication. The lack of motivation for social intervention might be explained, for instance, by a sense of lack of opportunities, incomprehension of the subject and no perspectives of a good future.
Raise It Now recognizes in this situation an opportunity to make use of young people's aptitude to new media to increase their participation in society. To achieve this, we want to create a network of partners which, in cooperation, will produce a 1-hour monthly radio show (in English or dubbed in English) about volunteering, mobility and entrepreneurship, to be distributed as a podcast and broadcasted by radios. Each "episode" is to be conceived and locally produced by one of the partners and, in that week, broadcasted in radio stations from all partner countries (i.e. month 0, all together; month 1, partner 1; month 2, partner 2; month 3, partner 3... and so on until partner 1 is up again). Partners organizations should establish partnerships with radio stations from their own countries to broadcast the show.
In order to promote musical entrepreneurship and create opportunities to youth musical projects, the podcast will also include music from uprising bands from the countries of partner organizations.
The audio part of the project will be supported by a website where contents from the show or other contents can be further developed. Some of the features of this website will be a forum (to potentiate interaction, networking and creation of partnerships) and a fully downloadable archive with the shows.
This youth initiative will include:
- Preparation visit to set up the network, establishing a training plan for the participants and scheduling in detail all the project;
- Local training sessions with young people in new media / radio skills;
- Meeting in Portugal with all participants to jointly record the first show;
- Local training sessions open to the young community;
- Local radio show production sessions.

- If you will include underaged participants, how many of them and name, direct email address and phone number os the coach;
- What is your nearest airport and the cost (per person) to reach it from where you live (round trip);
- Cost estimation for a round trip ticket between your nearest airport and Lisbon airport;
- Cost of a visa to come to Portugal (if applicable);
- A scan of your fully filled part 3 (you can find the template enclosed, DO NOT USE OUTDATED FORMS) (alternatively, part 3 can also be sent by fax to +351 214 757 661, please mention that in your reply). To be sure your part 3 is correctly filled, please check the attached document.
Then, AFTER BEING SURE YOUR DIGITAL PART 3 IS CORRECT (CHECK THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT) AND HAVING SENT ALL THE INFORMATION REQUESTED ABOVE, send 2 ORIGINAL COPIES by post to:
